Sorry, (Almost) No Vacancies
We have just returned from a much-needed two weeks holiday on the Isle of Wight. Blessed with sunshine it is such a beautiful and largely unspoilt gem of a holiday destination, just a short ferry crossing away. Wightlink do, it is said, run the most expensive ferry crossing per mile in the world, however it is wholly owned by the Prudential With-Profits fund in which many clients are invested, so it’s not all bad!
It was quite busy, as to be expected at the peak of the UK holiday season with Cowes Week to boot, but nothing like the hustle and bustle of living on the mainland. We did notice however that most B&Bs and privately owned hotals had a “No Vacancies” sign hanging in their window – proof that “staycation” is indeed one of the worthy buzzwords of 2016.
Clarity Financial Planning Ltd is also a privately owned small business and we too have almost reached a point of “Sorry, no vacancies” when it comes to client numbers, certainly for the time being, although this does require clartification:
We built our business from a standing start by finding suitable clients through referrals from Professional Introducers, such as Accountants and Will Writers, placing adverts in local Community-focussed magazines and the excellent “Find an Adviser” websites such as unbiased.co.uk and VouchedFor.co.uk. The latter brought many of our clients to us, some of you will be reading this right now, mostly seeking advice around their Pension options at retirement, however we have now delisted from them, in order to focus on the needs of our existing clients and to work only with suitable referrals from them and our Professional Introducers.
Our service is best summed up in three parts:
- Guiding individuals up to and into retirement, making informed decisions at the appropriate time
- Guiding them through a comfortable, secure and fulfilling retirement
- Considering their legacy, with the minimum necessary tax payable, to ensure their capital goes on supporting the next generation, family and other good causes
We also help business owning clients fulfil their obligations, for example meeting Workplace Pension legislation and ensure younger clients in particular have sufficient financial protection for themselves, their family and any other financial dependents in the event of death, disability or serious illness.
We do not have unlimited capacity, hence the decision to cease advertising and using online directories for the broader-based public, however we will always be delighted to receive an introduction to any friends, family or acquatances you feel would also benefit from the above service to receive professional, independent and clearly delivered financial planning and advice. An initial meeting is offered without cost or obligation, to establish if and how we can work together to our mutual benefit.
We only charge for our work, with a clearly defined menu of fees and payment options, once the need for advice and our charging basis is clearly agreed. Unlike the Isle of Wight B&Bs, Guest Houses and Hotels, despite the virtual “No Vacancies” sign, if you would like to introduce a potential new client to us for an initial consultation, please do not hesitate to do so.
